My paintbrushes range from tree branches to metro cards. Whether using driveway crack cement as an abstract art medium or maps from my travels as a canvas, the thrill is in the discovery as I create art using materials in unorthodox ways. Although my work has a conceptual foundation I strive to build upon and enhance that base in an attractive way that conveys the passion and depth I felt creating it.
The mentors that I’ve had in my studies at Rutgers University, California Institute of the Arts and Art Center College of Design helped to develop and strengthen a drive for this artistic exploration. From Leon Golub’s boldness to Lou Danziger’s motto of “work, think, feel” I am still influenced by the powerful language they taught me.
My work now hangs in corporate and private collections throughout the country as well as China, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Argentina, Canada and Mexico.. I am a board member of the Artist Guild of San Francisco and have been selling work in commercial galleries in Southern and Northern California as well as The East Coast for the past 15 years.
